American college track athlete dives over the
Infinite Tucker bagged the gold medal from teammate Robert Grant in the 400m hurdles with a dive for the finish line.
Texas A&M athlete Infinite Tucker stood as 2nd in the 400-meter hurdles back in 2018 at the SEC Track and Field Championships. This year he was determined to win it all no matter what he put his body through.
Trucker cleared all the hurdles in the 400-meter race at the 2019 SEC Track & Field Championships this past weekend, he was entered into final he faced neck and neck fight with his teammate Robert Grant.
Tuckers’ coach instructed him in past, that the fastest way to cross the finish line is running through it but he wasn’t hearing any of that today,
not in this race. But infinite Trucker decided whatever it happened he wants to win the race, it was a tough competition between two athletes, at last second he leap to cross the borderline won the title.
Here we have to consider Tucker fighting spirit to win the competition, he faced neck to neck competition from Grant, until he crossed the borderline with fabulous jump it was an undecided race. because till last second, there is tough competition from each other.
In the video it could be seen, no one can sure Tucker even gave himself that much advantage. If anything, he slows himself down as his legs stop moving when he prepares to take the ultimate leap.
Tucker won his gold medal with that leap across the finish line. He looks completely gassed there at the end as if one more step would’ve been the one that broke him. Maybe in this instance leaping was the right play. It’s easy to say that it was the right move in hindsight because he won the gold medal but we don’t know how the race would’ve ended if he just kept on running.
We could realize that trucker took the right step, we can easily judge that if he runs fast definitely he would win, but we don’t know what would happen at the last minute of the race, Grant had also had chances to win the competition. People praising for Trucker ultimate jump to cross the line, it concerns for strong determination.
His teammate who finished second didn’t seem to have a bruised ego after the race. He made a joke about how he’d be kicked off the team if he said what he was thinking
